Drink of the Week: Intelligentsia Gesha Village Et…

At the height of berry season arrives a different kind of fruity fix: the Intelligentsia Gesha Village Ethiopia Special Selection, a new 2018 Northern Hemisphere release from the Chicago-based specialty roaster and retailer. The limited coffee could easily be mistaken for blueberry pie in the cup and comes from Gesha Village Coffee Estate, a 500-hectare farm located in western Ethopia’s Bench Maji region, owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Adam Overton and Rachel Samuel Overton. Gesha Village’s coffee cherries are gathered, meticulously sorted and processed naturally, left to dry beneath the sun in their skins. The resulting brew is abundantly floral and fruity with a creamy yet bright finish—perfect for sipping hot or over ice. $19, intelligentsiacoffee.com
